Friday Finds: John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park!

Summer means traveling and camping--so I'll be doing a series on interesting or unique Florida camping destinations every other Friday through summer!
This year, vacation in tropial paradise at
John PenneKamp Coral Reef State Park
located in the Florida Keys!

It is the first undersea park established in the United States for the preservation of the only living hard coral reef in North America!
The preserve includes both land and 75 square miles of sea area to preserve the delicate reef.

Fun features of this park include:
100 to 200 gallon aquariums in the Visitors Center!

Glass bottom boat tours to see the reef!

Snorkeling tours!
(if you snorkel)

Scuba diving
(if you're trained & qualifed, there are boat trips available to do so.)

Camping:
47 sites for both tents or RV's with electric, water & sewer hook-ups each with a picnic table & grill.
(Florida parks have strict pet policies, so be sure to read those)

Plus hiking, picnicking, fishing, two man-made beaches for swimming and there's even a playground for the kids!
