Choice Morsels

August means Pampas Grass Blooms! Here's my White Pampas!  It's putting on a spectacular show this season! My Pink Pampas! It's just getting starting! The blooms are such a pretty baby pink when they first open, then the sun bleaches them to a creamy tan. And Our New Sliding Glass Door! It's a shatter-proof glass, storm/wind resistant door. Also UV reflective. Same as the rest of our windows now. Plus a clear view out to the bird feeder!

Last week I posted a photo of my white Pampas Grass blooms. This week: Pink! The Pink and White are parallel, on either side of this part of the yard, which borders my neighbors property. The White is taller. They're so pretty in autumn! ***** We had our annual termite inspection with the company we've been with for years and years and we got a clean bill of termite free health. It's pretty much an essential  here in Florida.  It's one of those "ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure," sort of things. One of our neighbors across the road hadn't been with any termite program for years and just few weeks ago discovered unpleasantly that the whole front wall of their house by the front door and the adjacent garage wall on that side so infested they had to have them completely replaced all the way to the interior sheet rock---all at their own expense. I got out and mowed half of the back yard earlier this afternoon and laid down some weed & feed on the mowed part. Now it's raining. Today's Garden Pic is the first beautiful plume of Pink Pampas! I just saw it yesterday. It's the first Pampas to bloom. The plumes are baby pink for a few days until the sun bleaches them out, so the first bloom is the best photo! My Mini Review of Movies We've Seen Recently: Mission Impossible 5: Rogue Nation: Just a clean fun action spy movie with a generous smattering of humor throughout. I give it two-thumbs up.  (The action could be considered be scary for kids under 7 or 8.) Fantastic Four: It's re-make movie about how the Fantastic Four became the "Fantastic Four." It's a back-ground movie. It's not a bad Marvel movie, but I wouldn't compare it to any of the Avenger related films.  I rate it as "okay."  This version has them experimenting with exploring another dimens...
