These are all good. The first is my favorite, because Mary has accumulated more yarn, crochet hooks, knitting needles and patterns than she will ever have occasion to use, so I know it's true...

Yes, I tried another new Pinterest recipe and this one is a winner! The primary dictionary definition of a "Dump Cake," is an easily made cobbler in which cake mix is dumped over canned fruit or pie filling.  This recipe was pinned from Del Monte, which means it's been a recipe that's been created & tested in a corporate test kitchen. That's one benefit of all those label, can & box recipes provided by manufacturers on their product packaging. You can even buy cookbooks featuring nothing, but package & label recipes of which many are vintage. The only changes I'd suggest is add one more 15 oz can of fruit. It can be more peaches, cherry fruit cocktail, regular fruit cocktail or whatever you want. (So, I've noted 4 cans of peaches in the recipe.)   It just needs a little more volume on the fruit quantity.  And stir a teaspoon or two of cinnamon into the fruit! Garden Pic Wednesday: Garden View

Todays Garden Pics: A Showy Front Corner: It's all the 4 O'clocks that make this corner bed showy! I took the picture when the Easter lilies were in bloom back in April. Since them, some of the young 4 O'clocks in front of these others have matured and today I was adding young Vinca's along the outer edge of the bed in front of them and other places--- I have dozen's of Vinca's volunteers and they transplant readily. Glad & Gardenia Vase Because the Gladiola's fall over, I usually pick them as they bloom and fill vases with them. This is a nice hi-style arrangement I made with 3 Glads and a Gardenia low in front.

Good Eating Monday: Indoor S'mores!

It was in the late 1960's when I tried my first S'More. I think the recipe was in the 4-H Cooking Project book. After that first taste, it was a family favorite whenever we had a wiener roast outside, since classic S'Mores involved toasted marshmallows. The original recipe calls for Hershey bars, but we found Hershey bar pieces weren't that responsive to melting all that fast or well under a single hot marshmallow, so we switched to using Brach's Chocolate Stars, which melt perfectly! We'd used 3 or 4 stars per half a graham, topped with a fat toasted marshmallow and they were perfect! So, with fond memories of S'Mores, today's recipe is a Pinterest recipe for Indoor S'Mores I tried out this week! Garden Pic Wednesday: Stacked Succulents!

       It's temperate out today and that time of year various garden and flower bed tasks are calling! Today was edging one of the front beds, which included dividing a day lily. I need to pick up some bark mulch this year and, with a fresh foundation of that, I can add mowing mulch on top the rest of the year. My flowers have apparently decided it is, indeed, spring: Dutch Iris heads are coming up and an Azalea bush in back is blooming! I've also started seed indoors in one of those plastic-tray planters for tomatoes, flowers & basil. Today's Garden Pic's are my newest garden project addition: A pair of stacked pots filled with succulents! I saw the idea in a garden magazine.  It requires two pots, one larger and one smaller. The large one is filled 3/4 with garden soil, then the smaller pot is set inside against the back, so a space is left in front. It is also 3/4 filled with garden soil.
