  My physical therapy for my arm is going well. I started going back to my nearby gym again last Friday. I use the bike that works both arms and legs. It's good for my elbow.  For Thanksgiving, I've picked up a pre-cooked turkey & sides from my local grocery and will heat that up for 3 or 4 people from the Sunday bible study who are staying in town. Today's Gardens Pics: A clump of late season "Butterfly Garden" seed I planted back in August. It was the last portion of a box of seed from Dollar Tree. I hadn't gotten anything to come up in spring or summer---but, surprise, the fall planting took off like gangbusters! The yellow flowers are Calendula. To their left is a Forget-me-not. To the right is a clump of Bachelor Buttons (cornflower) and one Coreopsis. This nice shot captures of glow of late day sun! Today I worked on harvesting a bunch of my Cardinal Basil's side-shoots for drying. A freeze is predicted for tomorrow night, so I wanted to get what I could.  Cardinal Basil gets it's name from the showy bloom. Unlike other Basil, that just bloom a flower stalk; Cardinal Basil's leaves around the blooms turn deep burgundy. These plants are volunteers from last year's Basil and I want these to go to seed, so I'll throw a towel over them. Sensitive things in my raised veggie garden will also be covered Nice shot of Cardinal Basil out front in the bed by the mailbox   And here's my harvest of Cardinal Basil ready to be rinsed, then cut up onto these drying trays: I keep the dryer out in the garage and do laundry on days I want to dry herbs, so it keeps me going in and out of the garage, so I don't forget about it.

I've just started my 7th week of broken arm recovery and I don't have to wear a brace anymore, though sometimes, it's still helpful. I've been working on driving short distances locally and wearing that brace gives me extra support. I drive a six-speed and that gives my right arm a good bit of workout. I go to physical therapy twice weekly. This week I drove myself to my Wed PT appointment myself.  My friend Diana was driving me to every appointment and we'd have lunch after. I'll miss that. It was nice having regular company to have lunch out with. I have a couple Garden Pics this week: Edging Change: This black edging is a pound-able type that is a series of interlocking 6 inch segments.  Originally, it followed the 90 degree angle of the sidewalk that leads to my front door. They only interlock on the straight; in the corner their edges just met. My toe clipped that bit of corner edging and that's what tripped me into a fall. So, a week ago, I pulled up 4

 Today begins my 6th week since I broke my arm. I've been wearing a Velcro brace off and on during the day as needed and going to physical therapy twice a week. I haven't been driving (since I drive a stick), but should be able to start doing that again soon. In the meantime, friends drive me to my appointments. I've already had a harvest of purple beans so far. Today spent a little more time outside feeding garden and flowers & refilling bird feeder and suet cage. Good exercise for my arms. Today's Garden Pic: I've had a lovely show of Dwarf Marigolds this year. I planted them all over and now that's paying off. In Florida, this is their best time of year! Both adult and young bumble bee's love them. This shot captures an adult Brown Belted Bumble Bee visiting my Marigold patch out by the mailbox. (bumbles have fuzz from head to tail with mostly stripes of brown fuzz on tail.)
